Dawnita has been involved with the Cochrane & Area Humane Society for over 15 years and considers the ability to be able to work with people and their pets a privilege. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge & Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, holds a professional membership with the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and is a licensed Family Paws™ Parent Educator.
As well as her love for animals, Dawnita has a zeal for further education in the areas of animal behaviour and rehabilitation, coaching and training, building respectful relationships between animals and the people that interact with them.
She has a passion for assisting shelter pets placed in loving homes and keeping pets in their existing homes through professional support and guidance. Her goal is to focus on strengthening the human-dog relationship through positive reinforcement, reward-based training, clear communication & better understanding of the companion dog.
